Following the collaboration with Nintendo to release "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Beijing," Sega today announced another special sports simulation game: "Beijing 2008: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games." As the officially designated game for this summer's Olympic Games, "Beijing 2008" will realistically simulate at least 35 events, allowing players to experience fierce competition within the game. From the National Stadium, "The Bird's Nest," to the National Aquatics Center, "The Water Cube," all these venues will be faithfully recreated in the game.
"Beijing 2008" will feature an innovative control system that allows newcomers to learn how to compete while enabling seasoned players to break new records. It also includes online battles and various competition modes. Sega claims that all of these features have never been seen before in any other Olympic Games video game.
The game is expected to be officially released this summer with versions for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. There probably won't be a Wii version.
