The ability to learn and memorize is the root of intelligence. In a latest study, Japanese scientists have, for the first time, discovered the memory ability and nerve activity in a kind of protoplasmic slime (a single-celled organism with multiple cell nuclei). The achievement is expected to reveal the original source of intelligence and wisdom. A related paper has been published in the latest issue of Physical Review Letters (PRL).
