Following the K-X, Pentax has launched a new toy DSLR, the K-R. The performance of the body does not significantly surpass the previous K-X; the imaging system still uses a 12.4 million pixel APS-C CMOS (the focusing system has been updated from SAFOX VIII to SAFOX IX), with an ISO range up to 12800, featuring a focus-assist light, capable of shooting 6 frames per second, and the fastest shutter speed reaching 1/6000 seconds. The original HDR function has also been enhanced, offering 5 selectable modes (originally 3). It is able to record videos at 720p and 25fps, and the rear LCD screen has been upgraded from 2.7 inches to 3 inches. However, what draws the most attention should be its toy-like color combinations, including the lens as well. In the future, fashionistas will not only need to match their outfits but also the lenses for the K-R when they go out on the streets.
