Xiong Zhuowei, female, born in 1956, was a medical professor at Peking University and held Australian citizenship. She worked as a researcher at the Cardiovascular Institute of the First Hospital of Peking University. Her research on lipoproteins received funding from two National Natural Science Foundation grants.
Three years ago, Professor Xiong Zhuowei of Peking University sought treatment at the First Hospital of Peking University for "mild lumbar spondylolisthesis" and ultimately died in the very hospital where she also served as a researcher. Four months ago, the relevant court ruled in the first instance that there was a causal relationship between the diagnosis and treatment provided by the First Hospital of Peking University and the death of Xiong Zhuowei.
