As the world-renowned ultimate sports car manufacturer for daily use, Porsche made its first landing in Chengdu from October 9 to October 16 via the 2002 Porsche World Roadshow, offering this city a round of competitive feasts. Since 2002, the Porsche World Roadshow has crossed five continents and left its footprint in more than 30 countries. Chengdu is hosting the event for the first time, and it is also one of the grandest events held at the newly completed Jin Gang Auto Park in Chengdu.
More than 300 guests and 50 media representatives were invited to participate in the roadshow event, where they test drove 21 models from the Porsche family under the accompaniment of Porsche professional coaches. Chengdu is the third stop of the Porsche World Roadshow in China this year; the previous two stops were successfully concluded at the Beijing Jin Gang International Circuit and the Shanghai International Circuit in May and June respectively.
Porsche coaches from both China and Germany provided driving guidance to the guests through a series of training exercises. These exercises fully demonstrated the outstanding handling performance of various Porsche models. Guests could choose the highly acclaimed Porsche Cayenne series to challenge the off-road segment. In addition, they could also test drive the latest Porsche 911 and Boxster/Cayman on the track, experiencing their high-speed flexible handling and unparalleled superior performance.
Mr. Bernd Ostmann, Chief Executive President of Porsche (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd., said, "The Porsche World Roadshow has been warmly welcomed by local consumers in Chengdu, which also reflects Sichuan car enthusiasts' affection for the Porsche brand. It is great to see so many distinguished guests and media friends participating in our roadshow activities, enjoying the pleasure of driving Porsche on such an excellent track. We also look forward to bringing more exciting events like the Porsche World Roadshow to the vast number of Porsche fans in China in the future."
