At around 6 a.m. on the morning of the 21st, a Beijing bus was severely incinerated near the second southern ring road. Fortunately, there were no casualties. According to preliminary investigations, the fire was caused by an accidental leak in the natural gas supply pipe of the vehicle's engine, which led to the bus spontaneously combusting.
On the 21st, reporters learned from the Beijing Public Transport Group that at around 6 a.m., an empty bus of Route 17 was returning to the depot when traveling northbound. It caught fire approximately 250 meters north of the Puhuangyu Intersection on Chongwenmenwai Avenue. The driver immediately pulled over, quickly used a fire extinguisher to fight the fire, and called the emergency services.
