The standard for a good wife

Today, I saw an article on Digg from the 1955 monthly publication "Housekeeping". The full title of the article is "The Good Wife's Guide". After reading it, I couldn't help but marvel at how comfortable men were in that era. Is the gender equality policy in today's society going too far?

Here is a summary of the standards for being a good wife:

1. Prepare dinner and have a sumptuous banquet ready before your husband gets home after work. Many men are very hungry after work, and this is a way to express your care and consideration for him;

2. Spend 15 minutes grooming yourself before he gets home. Lightly apply some foundation, decorate your hairstyle with a ribbon, and give him a fresh feeling;

3. Use some behaviors to make him feel that you are cute and interesting. You have the responsibility to relax him after a boring day at work;

4. Tidy up the room and clean up the mess before he gets home;

5. Organize the desk and toys, and lay a clean tablecloth on the table;

6. Light the fireplace in cold seasons so he can relax comfortably when he gets home; (nowadays, it's central heating)

7. Take care of the children. If the children are still young, wash them up before he comes in, and try to reduce the noise in the house, such as children crying, washing machines, and dryers making annoying sounds;

8. Let him know how happy you are that he has come home;

9. Express your love and desire to please him with a sincere smile;

10. Listen attentively. You may have a lot of important things to tell him, but not when he first gets home. Let him speak first, and remember: his topics are far more important than yours.
