At around 6 o'clock on September 8th, the Heilongjiang Province capture group found the trace of the suspect Wang Houjun during a search in Shuangsheng Village, Zhaoyuan County, Daqing City. The capture group immediately dispatched speedboats for patrol along the river. At 10:15 AM, they found the suspect Wang Houjun on an island in the middle of the Songhua River at the border of Zhaoyuan County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province and Fuyu County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province. Subsequently, with support from the Songyuan Public Security Bureau in Jilin Province, the capture group carried out the encirclement work. Wang tried to resist arrest with a gun. The SWAT officers from Daqing Public Security Bureau decisively shot him dead on the scene.
