Zhejiang TV popular news anchor Liang Wei suffered a sudden heart attack while on a business trip to Shanghai. She passed away in the city on August 26, 2009 at the young age of 28 after unsuccessful emergency treatment. Zhejiang Television issued an obituary announcement stating that a memorial service for Liang Wei will be held at the Hangzhou Funeral Home on September 1st. The passing of such a young life has left everyone feeling extremely disheartened.
Liang Wei's hosting style was dignified and stable, generous and brisk. She hosted many programs including "Evening News", "News Express" and "Zhejiang News Broadcast". She also served as the host of the Zhejiang Television Beijing live studio during the National People's Congress in March 2004 and as a reporter at the Athens Olympic Games venue in August. Last year, Liang Wei was appointed Assistant Director of the Zhejiang Television Marketing Center.
