Following the first act, Emma leaves London and finds a new job in the countryside. However, the bond between Emma and William is not something that such a little distance can erase. By chance, Emma follows her mistress back to London and reunites with William at his engagement party with Miss Eleanor. Due to discomfort and the sudden meeting with Mr. William, Emma's condition worsens and she faints. After the party, William urgently visits Emma in her resting room. Both still unable to forget each other after all this time, they can no longer control their emotions upon this accidental reunion. Thus, under the bright moonlight, what happens next is somewhat predictable (= =) (Speaking of which, this kind of accidental encounter is quite a classic trope). Afterwards, after Emma calms herself slightly, she becomes aware of the harsh realities of society and decides to leave Mr. William without saying goodbye.
