Since July 25, the online search volume with the keyword of "Zhang Licai" (Editor's note: Cai, pronounced as 'cǎ') has surged. Yesterday, there were about 33,700 related search results available on Google within merely 0.15 seconds; while on Baidu, about 5,700 related webpages could be retrieved within only 0.003 seconds; even the Chinese interactive encyclopedia had added the entry of "Zhang Licai"... So who is Zhang Licai and what did he do to suddenly attract so much attention?
It turns out that the recently popular "unofficial news" circulating online claims that Hu Bin had a courtroom body double, who was a taxi driver named Zhang Licai. Although there was no solid evidence and the court previously also denied the "taking the rap" claim, some pictures retrieved still sparked a new wave of verification fever among netizens, hoping that the judicial department or the government would respond at this moment.
