"Great Wall May Not Be Selected as One of the New Seven Wonders" - this piece of old news has been brought up again, and more interestingly, the vice president of China's Great Wall Society personally came out to canvass for votes. Even more amusing is that voting can be done via text message. I just want to laugh when I see it, it seems so familiar, it's like the international version of our Super Girl competition, with text message voting, one yuan per message, multiple votes from one phone.
To be honest, the canvassing first appeared on QQ, and I denounced it as a pure scam. Today, in order to verify my judgment, I specifically called the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO under the Ministry of Education. The staff member who answered the call immediately reacted that someone wanted to take advantage of the situation to make dirty money. According to the staff member, the event was not authorized by UNESCO, it was purely a civilian activity, unrelated to UNESCO; at the same time, the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO had already reported the issue to the central leadership, and Minister Chen understood. (Everyone can call 66096114 to confirm with the UNESCO Secretariat.)
In fact, such scams generally wave the flags of patriotism and national pride, because these words make people passionate, blinding their eyes and brains, and finally turning them into what Le Bon called the mob. The ones who will end up laughing are the foreign big swindler who makes Zhao Benshan angry and learns from Zong Qinghou, and also the accomplices within our country who pretend to be ignorant - the Great Wall Society of China, China Mobile, and China Unicom.
Actually, such scam tactics are not sophisticated, but it's strange, we think foreigners are all living Lei Fengs, it's strange that we forget too easily ourselves. Being included in the World Heritage List is under the name of protection, everyone knows that protection isn't visible, but the number of visitors has indeed increased, and the ticket price is more expensive. Who asked to be included in the list?
We can assume that if this selection of the New Seven Wonders was real and authorized by UNESCO, would you vote? I believe quite a number of people would. The reason is above. But when you face the rising ticket price during your visit, don't complain, because it's self-inflicted, caused by your own vote, digging your own grave.
In fact, let me tell you a way to identify scams: if there is mobile or unicom text message voting, it's almost certainly a scam without doubt. (End)
