The much-anticipated 50th Annual Grammy Awards was held this morning in Los Angeles, Beijing time. The ceremony was not affected by the Writers Guild of America strike, as singers and artists arrived to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the oldest music award. Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who was nominated for the first time, unfortunately missed out on winning the award. However, his six-minute solo performance at the awards ceremony still received enthusiastic applause.
