In 2004, I heard their single Antipodes at a friend's house and immediately became fascinated with this trip hop band that was formed in Algeria in 2000 and later moved to France. On the same day, I ran to LE baby and bought the vinyl collection of their first album Dhikrayat. The band is composed of three members: Algerian female vocalist Djazia Satour, Piero Martin (Drums and sound engineering), and Mathieu Goust (Bass and sound engineering). After releasing their first EP in 2001, they went on a tour in France for about a year. Later, in 2004, the band signed with sop/bmg and released their first album Dhikrayat, and in 2006, exclaim/warner released their second album Yamatna.

Mig's music blends various styles such as Trip Hop, Downtempo, acid jazz, dub, and Arab folk music. The dream pop guitar effects, deep cello and bass plucking, beautiful strings, and percussion mixed with lo-fi sampled remixes in their records create a mesmerizing experience. Female vocalist Djazia Satour sings in Arabic, French, and English, adding a romantic, melancholic, and dreamy quality to the slow and captivating melodies, making it hard for listeners to break free from its allure.

Not many people know about Mig, as they rarely tour in other countries and mostly stay active in France. Non-French introductions about MIG are almost impossible to find, with only a few websites like the French trip hop site tout Sur Le having introduced them.
