Blending their voices for the East Asian Games

In support of Hong Kong's hosting of the 2009 East Asian Games, the entire local music industry has strongly responded. Following the earlier participation of more than sixty singers in the recording of the Guangdong version of the theme song "Rush to the World", South Korean pop star Lee Hyori personally arrived in Hong Kong today to kick off the recording work for the international version of the theme song "You are the Legend". Local Hong Kong singers, including Chen Baixiang, Roman Tam, Nicholas Tse, Hacken Lee, Wang Yuzhi, Felix Wong and Justin Lo also recorded the Guangdong version of the theme song today, using their voices to support this international large-scale comprehensive sports event.

The 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong will see participation from nine regions/countries, including: China, North Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macao, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, and Guam. To ensure that all participating regions feel the enthusiasm of Hong Kong hosting this sports event and encourage people from all over to participate in this grand occasion, top singers from East Asia have been specially invited to record the international version of the theme song "You are the Legend", including Eason Chan from Hong Kong and South Korean pop star Lee Hyori. Renowned Chinese singer Zhu Zheqin (Sister Drum), Japanese singer Nakata Kyosuke, and Taiwanese singer Richie Jen will also come to Hong Kong soon for recording sessions. They will respectively interpret the international version of the theme song in English, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin.

The theme song for the 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong, "Rush to the World", is produced under the coordination of Radio Television Hong Kong, with music composed by Jin Peida, lyrics written by Chen Shaoqi, and both serving as producers. The creative theme is based on the slogan of the 2009 East Asian Games, "Create a Legendary Moment". More than sixty singers and elite Hong Kong athletes attended the recording session on November 7th. The Guangdong version of the theme song will be unveiled at the "One Year Countdown Event for the 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong" on December 5, 2008.
