The Song Dynasty. Ximen Qing (played by Lin Weijian), a young man from a prestigious family, is handsome and gifted with extraordinary talents. He also inherits his father's (played by Xu Shaoqiang) medical skills and pharmacological knowledge, excelling in techniques for replenishing yang energy. Just as he comes of age, his father hires a charming prostitute named Ziyan (played by Kaera Uehara) to come to their home under the pretense of being a daughter of an old friend temporarily residing at the Ximen residence. In reality, she is arranged by his father to instruct Ximen Qing in the art of lovemaking and to teach him that physical pleasure should be enjoyed without emotional attachment, thus setting the stage for Ximen Qing's future life as a womanizer.
To broaden his horizons, Ximen Qing leaves home for the capital city. Along the way, he falls ill and is rescued by a nun who brings him back to her convent. There, he encounters Mingyue (played by Hina Hikaru), a pure and adorable novice nun. Mingyue, on the verge of blossoming into womanhood, is awakened to her first romantic feelings by Ximen Qing, who also deflowers her. Consequently, she leaves the convent to become Ximen Qing's first wife, Wu Yueniang.
After the death of Ximen Qing's father, he inherits his father's wealth and builds connections with both officials and merchants, indulging in power and money while frequenting brothels and leading a licentious life. He then sets his sights on Jinlian (played by Renae Hayakawa), whose feet were bound since childhood, leaving them as small as those of a three-year-old child. Unfortunately, Jinlian is sold as a wife to Wudaliang (played by Ng Chi Keung), a short and ugly man.
However, the lustful Ximen Qing is not one to give up easily. To possess Jinlian, he devises a plan to murder Wudaliang...
