Synopsis:

Ben Tyler (Joshua Jackson) is informed that he has cancer and even with treatment, his survival rate is only 10%. Feeling disheartened, Ben buys a motorcycle, postpones his wedding with his fiancée Samantha (Liane Balaban), and without telling his parents, embarks on a solo journey westward. He sets out to travel through the Canadian prairie towns, taking pictures with all the large landmarks along the way until reaching Vancouver Island in British Columbia, while also searching for the "Grumpsie" creature from his childhood. Along the way, Ben meets various people, and begins to reflect on his own life and dreams, including his unfulfilled aspiration to become a writer. In Banff National Park in the central region, a frantic Samantha finally flies in to ask Ben to return to Toronto for treatment, only to discover issues in their relationship as well. Stubbornly, Ben continues his journey westward until he eventually discovers the meaning of his trip.
