Synopsis:

A "golden" duo from the Miami police department — Bena, a family-loving and wife-devoted man (Martin Lawrence), and Lowry, a suave and stylish rich kid (Will Smith) — are assigned to investigate the theft of drug evidence worth over $100 million. If they fail to complete the task on time, both will have to leave the force.

Amid their frantic pursuit, the case's only sexy female witness calls the police station, saying she is willing to identify the mastermind but insists that Lowry must personally protect her or there will be no deal. Coincidentally, Lowry is not at the station at that moment. In order to obtain clues, Bena quickly thinks on his feet and impersonates Lowry.

Subsequently, in order not to lose the trust of the female witness, the two decide to continue switching identities. Bena protects the female witness amidst gunfire and high-speed car chases, while Lowry goes to his house to accompany his wife.
