Synopsis: When a massive asteroid is discovered heading towards Earth and is set to collide in eighteen days, NASA devises a plan to prevent humanity's destruction: sending a team to land on the asteroid, drill through its core, and plant a nuclear bomb to destroy it. All this must be accomplished within eighteen days.

A drilling rig supervisor (Bruce Willis) is entrusted with this crucial mission. Coincidentally, one of his subordinates (Ben Affleck) is also the boyfriend of his daughter (Liv Tyler). The success of this mission will determine the rest of his daughter’s happiness. For this reason, he and his team undergo rigorous training from NASA, transforming overnight from oil rig workers into heroes destined to save the world.
