A team of astronauts travels to space to investigate Halley's Comet and instead discovers a mysterious spaceship containing three humanoid corpses. They bring the bodies back to Earth, only to find out that they come back to life and turn everyone they encounter into zombies...

Film Review:

The director of this film is the renowned American filmmaker Tobe Hooper, known for directing "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre." The movie was filmed in 1985, yet some scenes still look impressive today. For instance, the opening scene with the strange alien fortress is quite spectacular, as well as the moment when an alien zombie drains the life force from a doctor. There are also striking sequences at the end where London citizens are turned into dry corpses one by one by the aliens.

The film was produced by Cannon Films, a company that made several B-grade action films in the '80s, including the "Delta Force" series and "Death Wish" series, which we might be familiar with. Although there aren't any big-name stars in the cast, there are a few recognizable faces such as Peter Firth from "The French Lieutenant's Woman" and Patrick Stewart from the "Star Trek" series. The female alien character PL was played by French actress Mathilda May.

Film Commentary:

The film is full of thrilling and explosive moments. The first half has a strong sci-fi atmosphere, with beautifully shot vast cosmic landscapes and stunning alien spaceship scenes. The segment where London is overrun by a zombie army is particularly classic, setting a new benchmark for zombie films. This movie is a must-watch for fans of 1980s sci-fi horror films.
