Synopsis:

Valentine's Day, Los Angeles. Flower shop owner Reed (Ashton Kutcher) proposes to his girlfriend Molly (Jessica Alba), who happily accepts. Overjoyed, Reed shares the news with his good friend Juliet (Jennifer Garner). However, Juliet's doctor lover is unable to spend the holiday with her, so she decides to keep her best friend company instead. Junior office worker Liz (Anne Hathaway) enjoys a passionate night with her boyfriend Josh before heading off to work as a temporary secretary. Sports journalist Kevin (Jamie Foxx) is unexpectedly pulled in to cover Valentine's Day stories; he interviews Reed, which leads to an influx of customers at Reed’s flower shop, including a 12-year-old boy whose babysitter is about to lose her virginity while grandparents reminisce about their past. Meanwhile, Reed's mother, US Army Captain Kate (Julia Roberts), finds herself chatting animatedly with a stranger named Horton on a flight.
