Synopsis:

After enduring years of imprisonment, Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) successfully campaigned to become the President of South Africa. He led the movement to dismantle apartheid and set an example by hiring a white security team while establishing communication across racial lines in various aspects of society. As the host country for the 1995 Rugby World Cup, South Africa returned to the international sports community. However, the South African rugby team, known as the Springboks — which consisted entirely of white players — was seen by many black citizens as a symbol of racial discrimination.

To break down barriers, Mandela demonstrated visionary leadership by supporting the Springboks in their matches against visiting international teams. He met with the captain of the Springboks, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), and had a heartfelt conversation. Pienaar then led the white players on tours throughout South Africa, promoting rugby among the general population and transforming the sport into a unifying bond between black and white communities...
