Synopsis:

David (Luke Wilson) and Amy (Kate Beckinsale) are a couple who have just experienced the pain of losing their child. To commemorate their impending divorce, they drive through the dark night on what will be their final trip together before separating. In an attempt to take a shortcut, David turns onto a desolate road, but soon after, the car breaks down. A young man who is still awake at midnight appears and helps them, but the problem remains unresolved. David and Amy are forced to walk to a nearby motel to rest.

The motel appears empty, and from the office comes a chilling scream. The clerk nonchalantly turns off a disturbing video recording and assigns them to a corner room. The room's facilities are old and dirty. While flipping through the leftover videotapes in the TV cabinet, David discovers that their content is extremely realistic and gory films. However, what is even more shocking is that the scenes in the movies are clearly from the very room they have checked into! This motel is undoubtedly a twisted paradise for making snuff films from killing guests. Thus, in the cold night, the couple faces one ultimate challenge: their own survival.
