Synopsis:

Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a renowned veteran detective with the Boston Police Department and also a single father. He has only one child — his 24-year-old daughter Emma (Bojana Novakovic). Thomas doesn't have a particularly good relationship with Emma, especially when it comes to personality and political views; they are worlds apart. Thomas loves his daughter but doesn't know how to handle this awkward father-daughter dynamic.

A gunshot shatters Thomas's world of paternal love. Emma is brutally murdered in Thomas’s home. Everyone assumes that in this murder case, Emma was an accidental victim, and the real target was Thomas himself, as he has made enemies through solving many cases. However, Thomas soon becomes the prime suspect. Determined to find the killer of his beloved daughter, Thomas begins to follow the clues. Eventually, he uncovers a conspiracy far beyond what he can handle on his own, involving government secrets about nuclear weapons. Feeling powerless, Thomas must seek help from more influential individuals. As Thomas walks on the edge of darkness, can he overcome the shadows and clear his daughter's name?
