Synopsis: In a desperate future, the world seems like a giant wasteland, with nothing but desolation and darkness in sight. Human civilization has been completely destroyed in an apocalyptic disaster. With resources extremely scarce, survivors will do anything to survive, even resorting to cannibalism, turning the world into a hellish landscape. A father (Viggo Mortensen) and his son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) embark on an endless journey. They keep heading south, searching for a warmer refuge, with all their belongings loaded onto an old supermarket cart. The road ahead is long, and hope is slim. The father constantly recalls the voice and smile of his wife (Charlize Theron) and their past happy times, but now those good days are gone, and the future of this father and son remains uncertain...
