Synopsis:

Alister (Liam Neeson) recounts his experiences growing up in Northern Ireland. Joining a gang at the age of 13 and becoming a member of the Irish Republican Army at 14, his life has been intertwined with the region's cycle of terror and revenge, leading him through immense suffering. As a child, driven by circumstances, he and his friends attempted to commit robberies. After repeated failures, he shed any feelings of fear or shame, transforming into a true thug. One night, he shot and killed a girl in an apartment. Her younger brother Joe (James Nesbitt) escaped death by hiding while playing soccer. Afterwards, their mother, devastated by grief, would hysterically blame Joe for not coming to his sister's aid. Years later, both the perpetrator and the victim's family receive invitations from a TV station to participate in a live program in a certain location. Unaware of each other's presence, they gradually recall the painful memories as the station unravels the details of that tragic event...
