Synopsis:

The U.S. President is tormented by his conscience and frequently dreams of the bleak aftermath of a nuclear war. The immense psychological stress leads him to consider negotiating with the Soviet Union to abolish nuclear weapons. FBI Director Bob plots to assassinate the president in order to maintain America's nuclear superiority.

At the same time, psychologist Paul is researching a method that allows therapists to enter patients' dreams, guiding them to overcome nightmares and treat sleep disorders. This technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, allowing the protagonist Alex to enter others' dreams at will. In the end, within the president's dream of a post-nuclear war wasteland, an intense battle ensues between the president, the assassin Tommy, and the protagonist Alex. Of course, justice ultimately triumphs over evil as both Tommy and Bob are killed in the dream.

In this movie, a common "rule" later seen in virtual reality themes emerges: if a character is killed in the virtual world, they will also die in reality. Although subsequent cyber-virtual worlds differ from controlled dreams, they still inherit this "rule." The scenes in "Dreamscape" are grandiose, characterized by the bizarre and illogical nature of dreams, creating an ever-changing landscape of time and space.
