Synopsis:

In 1976, Virginia, USA. Norma (Cameron Diaz), a middle school teacher, and her husband Arthur (James Marsden), who works at NASA, are leading a happy life. They have achieved some success in their careers and live comfortably, with the only drawback being that their son Walter (Sam Oz Stone) is seriously ill and his health is deteriorating. As time goes by, the boy's condition continues to worsen, and the couple gradually finds it difficult to bear the huge medical expenses.

One morning, a mysterious black car leaves a box with a red button in front of Norma's house. Soon after, a man with a terrifying scar on his face visits Norma. He claims this is a box that can bring happiness to its owner; every time the button is pressed, a large amount of wealth will be gained, but in return, someone in the world will die. On one side, there is the enormous medical bill for their son, and on the other side, the lives of innocent people. How will Norma and Arthur make their choice?
