Synopsis: After the U.S. military invaded Iraq, Staff Sergeant William James (Jeremy Renner) was transferred to the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, replacing a colleague who had just been killed in action in Baghdad. The other two members of the team, Staff Sergeant Sanborn (Anthony Mackie), responsible for communication, and Special Forces soldier Owen (Brian Geraghty), responsible for cover fire, strongly disliked James' reckless behavior. However, during a bomb disposal operation at the United Nations building, James’ defiance of orders to defuse a bomb earned him praise from Colonel Reed (David Morse). During a warehouse bomb disposal mission, James believed that the Iraqi boy used as a corpse bomb was Beckham (Christopher Sayegh), a boy he'd met in the camp selling pirated DVDs. Beckham's death drove James into further madness, leading him to leave the camp alone and investigate the city...
