The plot mainly describes a taxi driver who has been an illegal immigrant in the United States for 16 years. In order to return home in glory, he borrowed eight taels of gold jewelry from relatives and friends. However, after returning to his hometown of Shantou, he found that his family had moved to Taishan. He then asks his childhood arch-rival "Wuzui Po" (Crow-Mouthed Woman) and her younger brother to accompany him to Taishan. True to her name, Wuzui Po chatters incessantly on the way, while her brother plays all sorts of tricks, providing non-stop laughs. After a series of unexpected accidents, the two arch-enemies finally confess their long-hidden love for each other.
This is the third part of Ann Hui's "Immigration Trilogy", telling the story of Chinese Americans returning to their rural hometowns in mainland China. It portrays touching and humorous local feelings, delicate family ties, and love stories.
