The film tells of Dustin Hoffman lending his voice to Po's master - a stubborn and rule-abiding Kung Fu master. This master has to painfully deal with Po, an unprogressive student, and train him into a Kung Fu expert. Around Po is also the Monkey Master (Jackie Chan) - a highly skilled and agile warrior whose job is to constantly remind Po of his worthlessness. Another of Po's masters, Master Viper (Lucy Liu), has mysterious skills: not only can he continuously change gender, but can instantly unleash great power.
Po the Panda (Jack Black) is widely recognized as the laziest animal in the Peaceful Valley. In the face of a powerful enemy invading the valley, all the animals agree to hold a martial arts meeting to select a martial arts expert to lead everyone against the external enemies and protect their home. When Po accidentally stumbles onto the competition scene, the experts are shocked to discover that this seemingly worthless panda is actually the destined "bear" who will save the entire Peaceful Valley!
Can Po become a martial arts expert under the guidance of his masters and defeat the strong enemy? The future of the Peaceful Valley remains unknown...
