The story begins in 1923 in the Guadalupe desert of California, where legendary director Cecile B. DeMille is shooting a silent epic film called *The Ten Commandments*. This movie is based on DeMille's own concept and is entirely different from the famous version he would later direct in 1956, starring Charlton Heston. However, frequent mysterious deaths on set are troubling DeMille—more terrifying still, the causes and appearances of these deaths resemble the work of Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of death.
