"Midnight Nightmare" is set to hit theaters soon.

Produced by international horror master Hideo Nakata, starring Zhou Xianxin, Charlene Choi (Zhong Xintong), Wu Jianfei, Huang Weide, and others, the domestic horror film "Midnight Nightmare" has been confirmed to be released domestically on November 25th. As one of the "Ring" series films, "Midnight Nightmare" has received widespread attention in the industry since its inception. It's reported that this Chinese version of "The Ring" deeply inherits Director Nakata's true skills, making it a thrilling movie closest to the original state of Japanese horror films. Next, let's uncover the seven great highlights of "Midnight Nightmare".

Highlight 1: Charlene Choi: Facing a "dead baby" and getting slapped

Tormenting female stars is probably the "trump card" of horror thrillers. In "Pulse", Lin Xilei was locked in a dark well and drowned in water. The severe abuse made her exhausted, even contemplating retirement and marriage. In another upcoming film, "Midnight Nightmare," sweet girl Charlene Choi also suffered greatly. Not only did she have to face a "dead baby," but she was also violently slapped by actress Zhou Xianxin.

On the shooting site, Charlene Choi once squatted down to carefully examine a row of bottled dead babies, showing great interest in those preserved in formalin with umbilical cords wrapped around them. She even exclaimed, "They look so real! Their eyes are wide open!" Nearby staff reminded her: "These are real babies, borrowed specimens from the hospital!" Charlene Choi immediately retreated a few steps, gasping in horror! She admitted that when facing the dead babies, she felt physically unwell and extremely nauseous.

In order to capture close-ups of Charlene Choi's facial muscles trembling as she got slapped, the director required actual combat between actors. By the fifth take, her right cheek had become slightly red and swollen, yet they still hadn't achieved the desired effect. Later, the director thought about using a stunt double, but surprisingly, Charlene Choi firmly refused. After being "beaten" over a dozen times, she finally passed the scene in a "tragic" manner.
