In the movie, Zhao Benshan plays Old Zhao, a farmer in his fifties who travels south to Shenzhen to work. However, when his friend Old Wang dies on the construction site, he decides to take Old Wang back home for burial. Old Zhao disguises Old Wang as a drunkard to sneak him onto a long-distance bus, but unfortunately encounters robbers along the way. Old Zhao vows to protect Old Wang's compensation money, earning the robbers' respect and saving everyone's belongings on the bus. However, due to the exposure of the body, he ends up being kicked off the bus by the passengers.
