The plot of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms: The Undressing Armor" describes the process of Zhao Zilong, over 80 years old, leading the sons of Zhang Fei and Guan Yu to start the northern expedition to achieve the great cause of the unification of the three kingdoms that Liu Bei did not complete, with magnificent scenes. The film travels through time and space in a span of more than 60 years, showcasing famous battles of the Three Kingdoms period such as the Battle of Chibi and the Battle of Changban through Zhao Zilong's memories.
