Plot Introduction:

A down-on-his-luck father (played by Stephen Chow), lives with his son (played by Elva Xu) in a dilapidated house by the roadside in Ningbo. In order to provide his son with a better life, he is forced to work at a construction site, only to suffer the tragic fate of unpaid wages, and even gets chased and beaten by the foreman for "causing trouble." Unable to afford the expensive toys for his son, yet unwilling to see him disappointed, the father fortuitously stumbles upon a strange object in the garbage pile. He decides to give it to his son as a toy...
