Yasuo Sasano (played by Koji Yakusho), after being laid off from his job and abandoned by his wife, is left homeless. Through the guidance of a wandering elderly man, he travels to a remote house under the red bridge by a river on the Noto Peninsula, hoping to find a box containing a golden Buddha that the old man had mentioned. However, he fails in his quest but instead encounters Saeko (played by Misako Shimizu), a woman with an extraordinary physical condition.
Saeko's uniqueness lies in the fact that during sexual intercourse, her body secretes a mysterious "warm water." This "warm water" has magical properties—it can make out-of-season flowers bloom and summon schools of fish from the sea into the river. More importantly, men who are bathed in Saeko's "warm water" regain lost confidence and vitality. Thus, Yasuo Sasano begins a series of intimate encounters with Saeko.
