Synopsis:
This is a story about people around the world who discover they have extraordinary superpowers and try to use these powers to change their lives.
The producer of "Heroes," Brian Fuller, said that the season finale of the third season will set the tone for the stories in the fourth season. "We spent a lot of time discussing with the writers how the stories should develop in this season. Basically, the last episode of this season, which is the 25th episode, is similar to previous finales, as it will open a new chapter for 'Heroes.'"
The main characters are:
An Indian genetics professor who, after his father's disappearance, travels to New York and begins exploring a mysterious theory - that some ordinary people may possess superpowers.
A dreamer who tries to convince his politician brother that he can fly.
A high school cheerleader who discovers she is invulnerable to weapons.
A Las Vegas stripper who discovers she can teleport between two different locations instantly.
A prisoner wakes up to find himself mysteriously outside the prison walls.
A talented painter whose life and relationship with his girlfriend were ruined by drugs, but who discovers he can paint visions of the future.
A police detective who seems to solve cases purely by luck but actually possesses the power of telepathy.
In Japan, a young man who can stop time purely through mental force.
When the shadow of an eclipse falls on Earth, an Indian geneticist discovers a shocking secret due to his father's mysterious disappearance: superpowers are hidden within many ordinary people. A 30-year-old dreamer, Peter Petrelli, tries to prove to his older brother, a successful novelist, that he can fly; 17-year-old high school cheerleader Claire Bennet finds herself completely immune to physical harm; 33-year-old Las Vegas stripper Niki Sanders struggles to support her son and discovers she can alter mirror images; 31-year-old D.L. Hawkins twice fools the prison authorities because he has the power to pass through walls; 28-year-old artist Diego Medina, an addict whose drug addiction has destroyed his life and love, but when he gets high, he can depict future scenes through his brush; Los Angeles patrol officer Matt Parkman, who, due to his ability to hear people's thoughts, is assigned to hunt down a cunning serial killer; 24-year-old Japanese comic fan Hiro Nakamura can make time stand still through wishing.
Where do these superpowers come from? What does it mean for these superhuman heroes? When enemies appear who want to exploit their superpowers for their own sinister plans, these superhuman heroes instinctively gather together to fight against common enemies and also to save the entire world.
"Heroes" is the latest sci-fi TV series broadcast by NBC in September 2006. "Heroes" focuses on various individuals with special abilities around the world and builds the entire story around them. Initially, the protagonists of "Heroes" lived ordinary lives like everyone else, but they gradually realized they possessed certain traits.
With ambitious goals to make a comeback, "Heroes" continues to recruit talent for its fourth season. Ray Park ("The Phantom Menace," "X-Men") will play a super-powered "knife-thrower"; Deanne Bray ("The L Word") will play a super-powered deaf woman; Robert Knepper ("Prison Break") will play a super-powered villainous character, appearing in at least six episodes. As previously reported, Madeline Zima ("Californication") will play Claire's college roommate, who also possesses superpowers.
Meanwhile, rumors persist that the show's soul figure Bryan Fuller might leave the production team to work on a new NBC series (possibly "Day One" or "Caprica"). If the rumors are true, "Heroes" will lose its last hope. Currently, Bryan Fuller serves as a "producer consultant" for "Heroes."
Executive producer Tim Kring revealed basic details about the fourth season. He said one of the themes of the fourth season would be discussing how superhumans "should live" - should they hide their abilities and live cautiously, or should they reveal their powers openly and live honestly?
Tim Kring said the storyline of the fourth season would revolve around Claire. Claire attends university in Washington, her parents are separated, and she has to deal with "mysterious suicides" on campus (is it following the route of "Veronica Mars"?). The "roommate" played by Madeline Zima undoubtedly plays a crucial role in this plot.
Tim Kring said Peter Petrelli would distance himself from family and friends, becoming a "lone ranger" saving others, much like Batman in "The Dark Knight." Peter will meet a new "love interest" this season, and this powerful woman will change his life and destiny.
Sylar will eventually "break free" from Nathan Petrelli's "skin"; Matt Parkman's grudge against Sylar prevents him from living a normal life with his wife and children. Angela Petrelli and HRG may establish a new "Company," but it won't be as radical as the previous one. And Hiro may significantly reduce the number of time-traveling instances in the fourth season (or even stop using it altogether).
