Plot Summary:
In the 1950s, a nationwide campaign to suppress counter-revolutionaries was launched, and prisons in various areas of southwestern China were overcrowded. In order to protect the fruits of victory and defend the new China, and to alleviate the pressure on the local government, a special force known as the first labor reform public security army of China was formed. Under conditions without high walls or barbed wire fences, and with limited police forces and equipment, they escorted tens of thousands of prisoners westward to Leima Ping.
