In the movie "Floating Desire Room," at the end of a secluded path in the forest, there is a lake covered with reeds. Below the lake is a fish farm and above it are floating guesthouses that look like separate "islands" from afar. The owner of the lake, Hee-jin (Suh Jung), is a beautiful mute woman who rows a boat in the morning to pick up guests and sell fish feed to the fishermen. At night, she seduces these guests with her beauty, leading to the demise of many men with ill intentions. Hyun-sik (Kim Ru-chul), a former policeman who killed his unfaithful girlfriend, escapes to one of the "islands." After much deliberation, he prepares to commit suicide with his gun. Just as he raises the gun, Hee-jin suddenly emerges from the water and stabs his thigh with a sharp knife, preventing his suicide. Hyun-sik develops a strange yet intimate feeling towards Hee-jin.
