Tiananmen Plot: In 1949, after the peaceful liberation of Beiping, Captain Tian Zhenying, head of the stage design team of the Enemy Resistance Drama Troupe under the Political Department of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, received an urgent task. His superiors required him to lead his team in a comprehensive renovation and repair of the Tiananmen Gate Tower for use during the Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China.

Due to long-term neglect from war, the dilapidation and desolation of the Tiananmen far exceeded people's expectations, and the renovation time was only a short 28 days. Captain Tian Zhenying and his teammates did not shrink back; they were filled with fiery determination to fight for the new China and complete the mission well so that they could meet Chairman Mao.
