Haeundae Storyline:
The story takes place in Haeundae, Busan, South Korea. In the 2004 Indonesian tsunami, Captain Man Seok's (Xue Jingqiu) mistake led to the death of Yan Hee's (He Ji Won) father. He has deep feelings of guilt and takes great care of this neighbor younger sister. Slowly, the two develop deep feelings for each other. However, He Ji Won's middle school classmate Woo Dong-chun (Jin In-kyun) does not look favorably upon this ill-fated couple. Man Seok's younger brother Hyung Seok (Lee Min Ki) is a marine rescuer. During one mission, he meets the rich young lady Kim Si Mi (Jiang Yi Yuan). Through a series of misunderstandings, the two start an unexpected relationship.
Virgin (Yeon Jeong-hwa) promotes Haeundae as the ambassador for the Expo tourism site. She and her ex-husband — international marine research institute geologist Dr. Kim Hui (Park Joong-hoon) have a daughter, but she has found new love. Dr. Kim is very troubled by this. Meanwhile, through his observations, he finds that the geological situation of the East Sea near Dama Island and Haeundae resembles the 2004 Indonesian tsunami. A rare and massive tsunami is approaching Haeundae, yet the disaster prevention department pays no heed to this...
