In terms of casting, Wei Junzi told reporters that Hong Kong artist Daniel Wu will play the role of scholar Xu Sanguan, who is the landlord of several experts, collecting rent while falling in love with the adopted daughter of a Jurchen expert and a female ninja, adding plenty of dark humor to the experts' treasure-hunting life.
