A traffic accident brings together a talented but unsuccessful pair of cartoonists (Tony Leung and Willie) with a female ghost (Joey Wang) who is about to be married. Tony's car mistakenly enters the underworld, bringing Joey into the human world. This sets off a romantic and touching ghost-human love story across time and space. Joey arrives in the human world knowing nothing about it, but luckily meets an experienced female ghost (Deanie Ip). The two share their life stories, and it turns out that Deanie lost her husband early and was drowned in a pig cage for secretly meeting her lover before marriage. Therefore, Deanie only thinks of herself and absorbs Willie's yang energy. On the other hand, Joey has fallen deeply in love with Tony, helping him secretly become a popular cartoonist. But as time goes by, Joey becomes increasingly weak. Finally, Deanie gets the chance for her son to be reborn, but the condition is that she must bring Joey back to the underworld, because Joey is actually the fiancée of Blood Demon. To let her son be human, Deanie doesn't hesitate to betray Joey. Tony decides to go to the underworld and fight against the Blood Demon. In the end, Joey sacrifices herself to save Tony, and perishes together with the Blood Demon.
