Full plot introduction of "My Robot Girlfriend":
Jiro is a lonely college student (played by Keisuke Kobushi) whose birthday passes without anyone wishing him happy birthday. Jiro goes to a department store to buy himself a present for his 20th birthday where he encounters a cute girl (played by Aoi Miyazawa) who looks like she just escaped from a fire scene. The girl picks out a dress, puts it on, and walks away without paying. Later, while Jiro is eating alone at a restaurant, he meets her again. "Today's my birthday too!" The girl drags Jiro along to celebrate her birthday. Jiro is turned around by her, gets beaten up by her, and they both end up being chased by the police after eating without paying... Jiro has never experienced such an exciting night in his life. However, when Jiro falls in love and becomes deeply attracted to this unpredictable beautiful girl, she suddenly disappears.
One year later, on Jiro's 21st birthday, he encounters her again! But she seems to have changed subtly. A man with a gun attacks the restaurant, and just as Jiro is about to be hit by a bullet, the girl saves him. She reveals the truth - she is actually a robot from the future.
The robot girl not only takes care of Jiro at home but also visits him at university and at work. She uses her special abilities to help Jiro repeatedly and even takes him back in time to enjoy happy time travels. Jiro gradually falls in love with her, falling for this emotionless robot. To make her jealous, Jiro deliberately dates other girls, but the robot doesn't understand what jealousy is. In despair, Jiro kicks the robot girl out of the house, yet he feels sad all alone.
One day, a massive earthquake suddenly erupts, and Jiro falls off a building and is critically injured. Amidst the chaos, Jiro unexpectedly reunites with the robot girl. Their love creates a miracle, overcoming Jiro's fate to die in the accident and transcending the barriers between human and robot...
