Plot Introduction:

"Silver Empire" tells the story of Shanxi draft bank "Tianchengyuan", which can be considered as the "financial giant" of the Qing Dynasty. It controlled the national finance, operated deposit and loan services, and at its peak, owned twenty-three branches across China, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, and Southeast Asia, with wealth rivaling that of a nation. The main storyline of this film is about the succession between two generations of the "Tianchengyuan" business empire. Besides portraying the triangular romance involving the father and son with an extraordinary woman, it also uses this process of inheritance to present the ideological conflict between Legalism and Confucianism in China. In the movie, historical events such as rampant bandits, the Eight-Nation Alliance, and the Xinhai Revolution are used as background displays, highlighting the spirit of righteousness valued by Jin merchants - "merchants valuing justice."
