The Ides mother and daughter seem to have been forgotten by society, living in a dilapidated old house, keeping a group of cats for comfort. Old Ides hardly gets out of bed, surrounded by piles of newspapers, clothes and dirty dishes. Little Ides likes to jump around cheerfully, often dressed like a diver, her hair barely visible. Old Ides once acted in movies and experienced the former prosperity of the Grey Gardens. But Little Ides had to give up her modeling career and her dreams of achievement and fame in order to take care of her mother.
