Plot Introduction:

At the end of the 1970s, in a certain city, female worker at a cigarette factory named Li Ping, with dreams of marriage, placed a small note inside a cigarette pack. While she was waiting, officer Wu Tianliang appeared before her and she followed this man to his military base, beginning her married life. However, reality of married life differs from imagination. She becomes close friends with her husband's subordinate, Wang Xiaomao. Soon, both Wu Tianliang and Xiaomao are transferred to civilian roles and assigned to the Ministry of Railways to participate in the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
