The bride, Miao Fang, nicknamed Ah Fang (played by Song Xiaona), and her newlywed husband, Chen Shu Ping, nicknamed Ah Ping (played by Mao Xin), have incurred many debts due to their marriage. The couple is unable to repay this large amount of debt; for this reason, Miao Fang decides to work in the south to earn money and pay off the debt, thus beginning a story of life away from home. After reaching her destination, Miao Fang finds her fellow townsman Xiao Hua (played by Chen Jingyun) and asks Xiao Hua to help her find a job. However, what Miao Fang did not expect was that not only did Xiao Hua not help her, but he even refused to let her stay overnight. With no other choice, Miao Fang had to sleep on the streets. Unexpectedly, she was discovered by another fellow townsman, Li Li (played by Sun Shi Qiang), who helped Ah Fang find a satisfactory job. But Ah Fang still dreams of making a lot of money soon. By chance, she meets another fellow townsman, Shen Hong (played by Liang Mingzhu), who introduces her to a family.
