The story of "Twelve Rooms of the Green House" is set against the backdrop of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, when the people lived in abundance and the courtesan industry flourished. As a result, in order to compete and survive, various establishments devised numerous ingenious strategies. Among them, the famous "Changyueć" (Joyful Tasting Workshop) was run by Miss Wu (performed by Wong Man-ho), who collaborated with Master Gang (performed by Ching Tze-chi), a carpenter specializing in designing unique sexual devices and pleasure rooms, gaining them widespread renown for their distinct offerings.
